This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you visit theusajobs.com (“The USA Jobs”, “we”, “us”), how it is used and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.
Information we do not collect
We do not run job applications on this site. We do not ask for or store résumés, Social Security numbers, financial information or account passwords. When you click “apply”, you leave our site and go to USAJOBS or the employer’s site, which have their own privacy policies.
Analytics (Google Site Kit and Google Analytics)
We use Google Site Kit, a WordPress plugin by Google, to connect the site to Google services such as Google Analytics and Google Search Console. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as the pages you view, how long you stay, the referring website, your approximate location (derived from your IP address), and your device and browser type. We use this information in aggregate to understand which content is useful and to improve the site. Google processes this data under its own policies: see How Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.
Push notifications (OneSignal)
If you choose to allow browser notifications, we use OneSignal to send you alerts about new job posts. Notifications are strictly opt-in through your browser’s permission prompt. To deliver them, OneSignal stores a subscription identifier together with technical data such as your browser type, device type, language, approximate location and notification interaction data. You can unsubscribe at any time by changing the notification permission for theusajobs.com in your browser settings. See OneSignal’s privacy policy.
Email sign-up
If we offer an email newsletter sign-up form and you choose to subscribe, we will use your email address only to send the newsletter you asked for. Every email will include an unsubscribe link.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. This site and the services above may use:
- Analytics cookies set by Google Analytics (for example, cookies whose names begin with
_ga) to distinguish visitors and sessions. - Functional storage used by OneSignal to remember your notification preference.
- WordPress cookies, which are generally set only for logged-in site administrators or if you leave a comment.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, but analytics and notification preferences may not.
Caching and hosting (LiteSpeed and Hostinger)
The site is hosted by Hostinger and uses the LiteSpeed web server and LiteSpeed Cache plugin to deliver pages faster. Caching stores copies of public pages on the server; it does not build a profile of you. Like most web servers, our hosting infrastructure automatically records standard server logs (such as IP address, browser user agent, requested URL and time of request) for security and troubleshooting.
Links to other websites
Our posts link to USAJOBS, government agencies and employer websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Please review their policies before submitting any information.
Children
This site is intended for adult job seekers and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to or deletion of personal information about you. Because we collect very little information directly, most data is held by the services named above, and you can use their tools and settings. For any privacy question, contact us via the Contact page.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when we add or change services. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it was last revised.
