Essential Responsibilities for Engineer/Scientists

Eligibility Criteria for Applicants

Required Education and Experience
Meet one of these professional series requirements:
- 0801/0850 (Engineering/Electrical Engineering): Bachelor’s in engineering (preferably ABET-accredited) or equivalent education/experience with calculus, physics, and engineering coursework. Professional engineering registration is advantageous.
- 1520 (Mathematics): Degree in mathematics or related field with 24+ semester hours in math.
- 1550 (Computer Science): Bachelor’s in computer science or degree with 30 semester hours in math, stats, and computer science (including calculus).
Specialized Experience: One year at ND-03 (GS-09/11 equivalent) involving:
- Systems engineering for software-heavy systems
- Proficiency in analysis, design, agile methods, data analytics, MBSE tools, and prototyping
- Understanding of engineering standards for defense applications
- Capability to secure and hold a Top Secret clearance (with SCI access)

Security Clearance, Testing, and Additional Requirements
- Achieve and maintain Top Secret/SCI clearance
