Job Overview
Apple’s AiDP team seeks talented engineers to tackle infrastructure challenges at massive scale, both on-premises and in the cloud. You’ll design and implement solutions emphasizing ease of use, maintainability, and scalability. The team integrates open-source technologies (such as Kafka, Spark, Iceberg, Airflow, and Presto) with Apple’s internal ecosystem to handle high data volumes across distributed systems.
In this hands-on role, you’ll spend significant time writing code, designing cloud applications, tuning systems, debugging, and supporting production environments. Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, propose features, and enhance user experiences on the platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Build scalable and resilient distributed systems for cloud analytics and data pipelines.
- Integrate open-source tools with Apple’s proprietary infrastructure.
- Develop, test, and deploy new components and features.
- Optimize performance for high-volume data processing.
- Support end-users and production applications.
Key Qualifications
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Proficiency in big data technologies like Kafka, Spark, Iceberg, Airflow, Presto, or similar.
- Expertise in designing and developing scalable applications on cloud infrastructure.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and work independently.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and experience supporting production systems.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Streamlit, Superset, Tableau, Looker) is a plus.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Several years of software engineering experience in data platforms or distributed systems.
