  • ND-04 level (higher pay band): At least one year equivalent to ND-03 (GS-09/11 level) applying systems engineering principles to complex assignments — including systems analysis/design, Agile methods, data analytics, and MBSE tools.
  • ND-03 level (entry/mid): At least one year equivalent to ND-02 (GS-05/08 level) using basic systems engineering to tackle technical challenges.

For ND-03, graduate education (master’s level) can substitute for experience.

Additional must-haves:

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
  • Compliance with DAWIA certification requirements
