Key Job Duties and Responsibilities

- Salary Range: $45,331 – $73,003 per year (GS-5: $45,331–$58,925; GS-7: $56,153–$73,003)

Who Should Apply? Education and Qualification Requirements
This role requires a strong foundation in physical sciences. Applicants must meet positive education requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in natural science or engineering, including at least 30 semester hours in health physics, engineering, radiological science, chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics, and/or calculus
- OR a combination of relevant education and experience
- OR certification as a Health Physicist by the American Board of Health Physics plus comparable education/experience
GS-5 Level: Fully qualified if you meet the basic education requirements. GS-7 Level: In addition to basics, demonstrate one year of specialized experience (equivalent to GS-5) assessing radiological issues, collecting hazardous samples, and preparing reports — OR substitute with one year of graduate education, superior academic achievement bachelor’s, or equivalent combinations.
